Product description

Notes
Design basis is the air volume of the closed system.
Description
These environment dryers are used for dehumidifying closed systems such as control cabinets.
Further information
The air in the system is continuously dehumidified by the environment dryer due to diffusion motion in the air. This ensures that no or little air can flow into the system. This dehumidification process prevents condensation from forming and protects e.g. the electronics against damage.
The environment dryer after full saturation (load) can be either regenerated in the oven at 120 °C or filled with fresh silica gel. In the adsorber the water molecules contained in the air are bounded in the pores of the adsorbent (silica gel). The saturation (load) is indicated by a change in colour from orange to green.
Silica gel consists of about 99 % of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and is classified as a synthetic polar and hydrophilic desiccant. It possesses due to its high porosity, a large internal surface area of up to 800 m²/g.This enables a very high water holding capacity. Colour changes indicate the water content and therefore the progress of the loading of the desiccant. According to EU legislation (Regulation EC No 1272/2008) silica gel is not classified as a dangerous substance. It is not subject to classification according to EC Directives (67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC). Silica gel is not among the health and environmentally hazardous substances.
